Nyjah Picks Up Where He Left Off
The 2025 SLS Championship Tour exploded into action with Nyjah Huston reminding everyone why he's still the man to beat. Fresh off his Super Crown victory in 2024, Nyjah delivered when it mattered most, edging out an absolutely stacked finals lineup that featured six of the world's elite street skaters.
The finals turned into a nail-biter, with Gustavo Ribeiro and Felipe Gustavo both cracking the 36.5 point barrier and staying hot until the final buzzer. Both went clutch mode in their last tricks, stomping a 9.5 and a 9.3 respectively. But Nyjah's earlier 9.3 run proved to be the difference maker, giving him just enough cushion to secure the win despite the pressure packed performances around him.

Breaking the Century Barrier
Beyond the podium, Nyjah made history by becoming the first skater to surpass 100 Nine Club scores, as in tricks or runs scored 9.0 or higher. It's a milestone that speaks to his consistency and ability to perform at the highest level year after year.
Last-Minute Roster Chaos
The Miami stop saw some unexpected roster shuffling that kept everyone guessing. Shane O'Neill, Aurélien Giraud, and Cordano Russell were all last minute scratches, leaving notable gaps in the field. Stepping up to fill those spots were David Reyes, Manny Santiago, and Jake Ilardi, giving the competition a different flavor than initially anticipated.
Brutal Day for Reyes and Hoefler
Not everyone found their rhythm under Miami's lights. David Reyes and Kelvin Hoefler, both typically reliable competitors, had days they'd rather forget. Neither managed to land a single trick in their best trick section and clean runs were nowhere to be found. It's the kind of session that happens to everyone eventually, but it stings extra hard on the SLS stage.
The Miami opener set a high bar for the rest of the tour, with Nyjah proving he's not slowing down anytime soon.
